Seven Key CNC Machining Processes: Ebook Now Available

The Eagle Group is offering a new Ebook outlining the processes of CNC machining and advanced metrology. Titled “CNC Machining Process Guide: History, Current Practice and Processes of CNC Machining and Advanced Metrology,” the 25-page resource is intended to help manufacturing purchasers, OEM companies and engineers to get a better idea of how CNC machining works.

Starting with a brief introduction to CNC machining, the guide traces the lineage of metalworking that led to the need for greater precision and eventually to the advent of CNC machining.

The CNC Machining Process Guide then zooms in on seven key CNC machining processes that make up the majority of precision machining work. These include: turning, milling, drilling, boring, sawing, broaching and grinding. Each chapter discusses techniques, machine tools and best practices for each of the seven machining processes.

Given the complementary nature of machining and metrology, the latter section of the Ebook is devoted to a discussion of measurement tools. Not only will readers catch a glimpse into the development of measurement standards, they’ll also get an introduction to seven vital metrology tools that every CNC machining facility should use.

Fully illustrated with color photos depicting processes, tools and concepts, this easy-to-read guide is a great introduction—or refresher—to the role CNC machining plays in modern manufacturing.
